Friends,

Since 1937, Echo Lake Lodge has offered a relaxing Maine vacation and outdoor sporting adventures in a natural, wooded setting. Our casual lodge and rustic cottages share over 600 feet of waterfront on beautiful, pristine Echo Lake. We are located just 15 miles northwest from Maine's capital city of Augusta and I-95, one mile down a quiet, wooded road.

The lake offers recreation such as fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and wildlife viewing. Many birds, including loons, make their home around the lake and can be seen often. The lake is stocked and holds over a dozen species of game fish such as bass, cusk, lake trout, splake, perch, and landlocked salmon. The gradual sandy beach area and swim float makes it easy for all ages to enjoy the water.

In the fall, you can go leaf peeping, soak in deep quiet, or hunt for a deer. A short walk takes you to 200 acres of woods, with another 300 acres just a 5-minute drive away. Several ATV trail areas are available between 15 minutes and one hour away.

Winter brings snow and ice, and a whole new set of activities and adventures! We are less than a half-hour drive from several cross-country skiing areas, and just 45 minutes to the nearest downhill slopes. Of course, you can break your own trails on skis or snowshoes around the lodge, too. Snowmobile trails are less than a half-mile away, with easy access to the International Trail System. Ice fishermen will have good luck going for cusk or lake trout. You can also clear areas on the lake for skating or pick-up games of hockey.

Whether you are looking for a place for your family gathering, to host a reunion or special event, celebrate a holiday, or just enjoy a quiet stay in a beautiful, relaxing Maine atmosphere, Echo Lake Lodge and Cottages is waiting for you. Come discover why the state motto is, "Maine: The Way Life Should Be."
